This qualification is structured incorporating a Full-Time training syllabus to bring you from no experience to the completion of the CASA Commercial Pilots License (CPL), with highly desirable logbook experience on Aircraft preferred by employers worldwide.
Flight crew duties include applying technical and non-technical aviation skills and knowledge to a wide range of air transport operations, including passenger, charter and cargo operations.
Individuals working at this level will apply knowledge and skills to demonstrate autonomy, judgement and defined responsibility in known or changing contexts and within broad but established parameters.
This qualification forms the requirements for the issue of a CASA Commercial Pilots License (CPL) by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) as directed by Civil Aviation Safety Regulation (CASR) Part 61 Flight crew licensing.

Accredited Training
A vocational education and training (VET) accredited course has been assessed by ASQA as compliant with the Standards for VET Accredited Courses 2012 and the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
Accreditation is formal confirmation that the course:

“ meets an established industry, enterprise, educational, legislative or community need

How you will study
The flight training program surpasses the requirements of the CASA Part 61 Flight Crew Licencing and involves a combination of both classroom theory and practical flight training.
You will be trained in the following singe-engine aircraft:
– Cessna C172
– Cessna C182

Classes are taught through a combination of lectures, seminars, tutorials, online reading, workshop, practical and interactive sessions. Youll have access to online resources through the student portal. Ongoing assessment throughout the semester includes examinations, essays, reports, oral classes, presentations, group projects, research projects, and practical assignments.

Study Load
The course is structured and is considered full-time. Students are required to attend class approximately 20 hours
per week with additional self-paced learning, web forums and research outside of class.
Ground School classes are held weeknights between 6pm “ 10 pm as per your semester timetable. This schedule is designed to fit around work and study commitments. Discuss training and support options with our team to help ensure that your studies don’t interrupt your lifestyle.

personnel.
Program Structure
The AVI50222 – Diploma of Aviation (Commercial Pilot Licence – Aeroplane) is delivered over 3 semesters. To obtain this qualification you require 28 core units of competency and in addition to the core units at least 1 elective.

Admissions
Whilst there are no prerequisites according to the Training Packaging Rules, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority
(CASA) and ICAO state that learners should be able to pass the aviation English proficiency at level 4 and hold a Valid CASA Private Pilot License (PPL) or Commercial Pilot License (CPL).
The school assesses each student to determine their suitability to the course on offer.
Learners also require;
¢ Current Class 1 or 2 aviation medical
¢ ASIC Security Clearance (this is required at the course start).

Credit transfer and recognition of prior learning
Recognition of prior learning (RPL) is a process that assesses your competency”acquired through formal and informal learning”to determine if you meet the requirements for a unit of study.
You can use a variety of documentation to apply for RPL. This includes, but is not limited to:
- records of completed training
- assessment items
- assessment records
- declarations from your employer, and/or
- a copy of your student records provided by ASQA.
If you wish to apply for RPL for this qualification please get in contact with us. Hartwig air will assess your suitability for RPL and if suitable will recommend an RPL assessment. Please be aware there is a charge for an RPL assessment.
If you already hold a unit of competency that is in this qualification you can get it recognised in this qualification with out charge (Credit transfer)
